Product Description Sleek & Trim Kindle DX is as thin as most magazines. Just over a third of an inch in profile, you'll find Kindle DX fits perfectly in your hands. Beautiful Large Display Kindle DX's large display is ideal for a broad range of reading material, including graphic-rich books, PDFs, newspapers, magazines, and blogs. Kindle DX's display is two and a half times the size of the Kindle display. Whether you're reading the latest bestseller or a financial report, text and images are amazingly sharp on the 9.7" screen. Auto-Rotating Screen By simply turning the device, you can immediately see full-width landscape views of maps, graphs, tables and Web pages. Built-In PDF Reader Unload the loose documents from your briefcase or backpack, and put them all on Kindle DX. From neighborhood newsletters to financial statements to case studies and product manuals--you can take them all with you on Kindle DX. Native PDF support allows you to carry and read all of your personal and professional documents on the go. With Amazon's Whispernet service, you can send your documents directly to your Kindle DX and read them anytime, anywhere. 5-Way Controller Kindle DX has an easy-to-use 5-way controller, enabling precise on-screen navigation for selecting text to highlight or looking up words. Simple to Use, No Computer Required Kindle DX is completely wireless and ready to use right out of the box--no setup, no cables, no computer required. Long Battery Life - Read for Days Without Recharging With Kindle DX's long battery life, you can read on a single charge for up to 4 days with wireless on. Turn wireless off and read for up to 2 weeks. Battery life will vary based on wireless usage, such as shopping the Kindle Store and downloading content. In low coverage areas or in 1xRTT only coverage, wireless usage will consume battery power more quickly.

great product March 14, 2010 shelly (Australia) This product is fantastic. I read much more than I did before my Kindle. I travel by air frequently and use it all the time. I could have sold 50 Kindle by people asking questions and finding it great.
Love my Kindle! March 13, 2010 Linda E. Florimonte (San Clemente, CA) Sometimes you want to read the book rather than listen. This device offers both options. I used it everyday!
Great product for many low-vision folks March 13, 2010 J. Cummings I had previously tried using the Sony touch screen, but had to turn that over to my wife because the touch screen made even larger fonts almost impossible for my low-vision, glare bothered eyes to read. I was excited about the newly arrived ipad, but knew that the LED would wear me out pretty quickly. While reviewing apple's product, I learned of the Kindle DX. Hoping that it's size, large fonts (with adjustable words-per-line), and eye-friendly contrast would possibly work for me - I ordered one. It has exceeded my expectations. Non book content may not be able to access tha larger fonts, but If you main interest is reading books, you should not be too concerned with that. I can read regular size print, but it's hard and frustrating. Large print books are easy for me. On the Kindle I usually use a font that's kindof in between the two. If your vision is anything like mine, check this baby out! Of course, low-vision folks should also be excited with the text to speach feature that you can get on many less popular titles (publishers disallow feature for most new releases) and you can also listen to audio books. I've had my DX for several weeks now and am still excited everytime I pick it up!
Greatest gift for the elderly March 13, 2010 Maxine L. Stewart Since I have macular degeneration and cataracts, I have been unable to read. With the kindle I am enjoying scriptures again. Thank you so much. This is just like magic to me.
Shocked I liked it so much March 13, 2010 Stiggy (WICHITA, KS, US) I was not sure I wanted an e-book device like the Kindle because I love reading actual paper books and thought I would miss the smell, the feel in my hands, etc. The Kindle blew me away. The ink print technology is wonderful for the eyes, with the pivoting landscape, I can switch position easily to read. I can change the font for my husband and we can even read different books on the same machine. It hasn't replaced actual "hard copy" books in my home, but I happily read from either the Kindle or my books at home. The low cost of most titles has helped me try new genres and enjoy books I would normally pass over in a book store. And it is an invaluable travel companion, it keeps me up to date with my reading when I'm away from home. I would recommend it to anyone.
