2 out of 5 stars Look cool, but don't work   January 8, 2009
Erin W. (New York, NY)
I really wanted to ignore the reviews I'd read and think that it must just be user error which caused these light sabers not to work, so I went ahead and bought them for my boyfriend thinking that surely they'd work for him. Unfortunately, they didn't. They do look really cool, but the sensor bar of the wii doesn't even come close to picking up the moting of the wiimote when inside the light saber. Save your money, and just play with the wiimotes.

3 out of 5 stars Fun but with Flaws   January 7, 2009

Thrustmaster Glow Saber Duo Pack
These look cool and are fun but they have their problems. They are just a but heavy. I am a big guy 6'2" 250lbs and I find them awkward maybe easier if you take the balade off. They are the best looking and for a Star Wars fan they are a cool little item. They light up great. So for game play it will effect your game but I am sure like real sword play it could be learned over time.

3 out of 5 stars looks great but hampers some gameplay   January 6, 2009

There's no argueing these sabers are the best star wars replicas for wii
sadly the most comfortable place to hold them is the rounded part by the power button. This would be fine if the wiimote slot was as round but it's not and is made worse by needing to press buttons other than the gun trigger
in lightsaber duel. This accessory is best suited to dragon quest where you simply swing it around or the upcoming wii sports resorts.

A 10 for cool factor but a 3 for usability. Had lightsaber duel let you
block and attack by the position of the saber and had jumping and movement on the numchuck this would've been alot better but nintendo kept wii motion
plus to themselves which woul've allowed for this.

3 out of 5 stars Good idea but needs improvement...   January 4, 2009
star wars gamer
I received this saber pack as a gift along with the Clone Wars game. Having played the game once before with only the wii remote, I knew how the game play should have been. Upon using the sabers as instructed, I found the game play was severely reduced. I needed to swing the remote numerous times to register it on the screen and got beat by the computer in the mean time. However, I took the batteries out of the sabers but kept using them and the game play went back to normal (or pretty close to normal). I sacrificed the glowing red and blue saber to get better game play but still got to use the sabers. If kids want to play each other I'll put the batteries back in for the glowing effect. They'll have fun either way. But to have a real fight simply take the batteries out. I'm sure they'll re-design it later on so there is no interference. I would still buy this again even knowing the flaw.

PS ~ Don't stand to close to your opponent.

These look great but as a controller for the Wii they are a total waste of money. They are heavy and the poor response from the controller makes it virtually unplayable. Pass.
