Must have especially for kids January 2, 2009

I bought this for my son to protect the PSP (his second PSP) that he got for his 6th birthday (back in October'08). I always encourage him to "put the armor on" his PSP especially when he takes it out of the house. This item has saved his PSP, before my very eyes, at least twice! He dropped his PSP onto the concrete floor of the garage once and once while getting out of the car he dropped it on the pavement of the driveway. With the lid of the case snapped shut it protected the PSP inside - not a scratch. This item is worth every penny - if it were not for this item my boy would have waited for his 7th birthday for another PSP.
Would be better if the game could be easily played while still in the case - you have to flip the case open to play and gain access to the buttons. Don't know that anyone makes a frame or case that fits over the PSP and stays put WHILE you play the game... but this is a "nit". The game will stay in that armor - perhaps he will not need a new PSP quite so soon.

I spent a while researching psp cases and I came upon several people suggesting this logitech PlayGear pocket case so I decided to pick one up and I'm glad I did.
First of all, you should note that this is a PSP system case only. This means that it does NOT have a slot for your UMDs, memory stick or anything else. This is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact if it did have that much more space then it would lose it's compact size and become much more bulky. But if you're looking for something that can hold your PSP and all it's accessories then this is not the case for you.
The case has a great hard plastic shell that will protect your PSP from the normal drops and scratches that most PSPs have to endure. The inside plastic mold holds the psp slim perfectly in place and does not allow it to move or wiggle around at all while inside. You can even prop up your PSP while it is inside by opening and positioning the top part of the case behind it, which is a great little feature if you like to watch movies or videos on your PSP.
One of the big draws to this particular case is that it has a space just beneath the clear outside shell so you can print out your own skin and insert it into the case to customize it to you're liking. Logitech even includes a plastic template with the case so you can cut a picture to the exact size of the space allowed in the case. If you don't feel like making your own skin you can just do a quick google search and you'll find plenty of skins that other people have made specifically for this case. Just print it and cut it out.
The case leaves certain parts of the PSP uncovered, like the headphone jack, the shoulder buttons and the power switch(but not the usb port) which is great because it doesn't force you to take it out of the case to play or charge you're PSP.
My only real complaint is that, while it is advertised to have a "play-in-case design", it is still very uncomfortable to play games on your PSP while it is in the case mostly because of the opening for the power switch.
All in all, this is probably one of the best protective case's for the PSP slim and the skin customization is a brilliant and original idea which really puts this case way above the competition, but if you're looking a case that you can comfortably play your PSP in, then you should probably look elsewhere.

This logitech Slim case fits my PSP3000 black model perfectly. It does add bulky size to the PSP, but it offers a better grip, and can be used as a stand when eatching movies, though it will slip to the surface if you put on a not so horizontal table. Overall, it's the best protection you can find on the market for PSP3000, as well as PSP2000. A little thing to mention, this is the "Slim" one, instead of the bulky one for the PSP1000.

The PSP is a remarkable little system. But it suffers from two somewhat minor but noticeable design flaws. The Slim model is rather small for a person with large hands, and the slick, polished exterior of the system is a magnet for fingerprints. Logitech's case solves both of those problems. The PSP fits snugly into the hard plastic shell while still allowing access to the exterior jacks and buttons. It makes holding the PSP for longer periods of time much more comfortable because it gives you a "meatier" and more sturdy feel in your hands. And with the entire back surface of the PSP covered by the case, no more constant polishing to get the fingerprints off!
You still have to remove the PSP from the case in order to access the memory card, USB port, or change the UMD disc, but those aren't things you're doing on the go anyway. I recently started using my PSP as my primary MP3 player, and this case makes toting the PSP around much easier without worrying about damaging it. Plus, the system fits snugly in the case yet still comes out easily, so there's no worry about it getting stuck or feeling like you need to yank it out, threatening to break either the system or its case.
This is truly a well-designed product and a must-have for any PSP owner, even if you don't take your PSP with you much. I can't speak for durability or if it will withstand a toss off the top of a tall building, but it definitely feels well-constructed and will most likely outlive the useful life of the PSP! No PSP owner should be without this handy accessory.
