007 is back ! December 30, 2008 Julie Hazeltine (Standish , MI) Oh , where do I start let's see , the beginning . First you have to read the manual that comes with it. Because alot is tricky, but read it two or three times you'll remember it. The graphics, two words IT'S AWESOME ! The gameplay, It's fun, M is always mad at you, but you never see her, the only way to communicate is by phone. Another thing is that you have flashbacks of Casino Royale Which are really fun . I haven't completed the game yet so I hope the rest goes well.
A Fun Game, But Lacking Offline Multiplayer December 28, 2008 T. Zinkle (east TN) First off, this game is really fun. The game plays really well and the graphics are outstanding. The game is both Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale in the story mode which helps the game become even more fun. There is also some decent replay value with the single-player modes and trophies help the game too. However, this game only has online multiplayer. I have online, and it's fun, but what if you invite friends over? It's ridiculous how game developers now think that because the PS3 and Xbox 360 are out that no one cares about offline multiplayer! I really miss the fun multiplayer modes in Nightfire and From Russia With Love. If this game had offline multiplayer, it would probably be one of the best Bond games I've played. Overall though, I really like this game and will be enjoying the online multiplayer and wishing for more.
Great Game December 14, 2008 J. Chin Single player is so so. Multiplayer is kind of fun. Great game for a shooter. A bit short. But hey it's a movie game, which are all short anyways
Almost there December 7, 2008 William Barnes (Oxford, OH) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are some things about this James Bond game that make it good, like the cover option, and the online multiplayer, but that just is not enough. The online multiplayer gets really annoying because the players automatically scream out obnoxious things like "Proximity placed", and "Out of ammo". There also is no multiplayer for if you just have friends over. I had to sell this after I beat this game in 3 hours. This game could have been better. Maybe next time.
Two Films in One Game November 27, 2008 Roy D. Roach (Lockhart, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This addition to the 007 game series is a worthy one. It is played in a movie point of view from the get-go, taking off from the end of "Casino Royale" and following the "Quantum of Solace" script almost word-for-word. What I really like about it is even though it is played as if it were the two movies, it tells stories from other points of view than Bond's, such as Mi6 and the villians. They also placed the majority of the "Casino Royale" missions in as flashbacks, which makes a really neat double storyline. As far as the main game is concerned, it is a great buy and even though it is quick to beat, you won't have any hesitations about going back and playing it again at a higher difficulty. There are a lot of limitations though, and many of the perks and gadgets from the EA series of 007 are gone. Activision took over the series well, but they left out some stuff Bond fans will want. The animation, while extremely realistic, is somewhat lacking in the graphic violence. I never saw any blood of any kind when taking out enemies, and some of the scenes in the actual films were infinitely better with blood than the game's take on it without. The weapons are extremely detailed, but low in quantity. I only used about ten weapons throughout the entire single player game. Also, there are no vehicle missions of any kind - so no you can't drive the beautiful Aston Martin. That was a big disappointment for me. Much of the single player game is in what I call "movie mode," which is when it shows Bond in third person walking on ledges and avoiding enemies. The action during these moments is very limited, and it only asks you to press an occasional button to do anything at all. While it is neat to watch, you feel limited playing Bond and will feel like you should be doing more. Luckily the majority of the game is in first person, so that's not a huge bother. Being Activision, you'll find the multiplayer to be almost an exact replica of "Call of Duty 4," but without a lot of the extra goodies. It is by far the best multiplayer on a Bond game, though, but don't expect everyone to be Bond in a free-for-all because it won't allow it. Overall it's a great game and worth your money, and I'm glad I bought it.
