FUN!!! December 24, 2008 Ernest P. Bellavita (Boynton Beach, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are a nerd like I am you have to enjoy this game. There is nothing like swinging around New York City fighting crime as Spider-Man. The play control is excellent as well as the graphics. The Marvel Universe is well represented with landmarks suck as Stark/Avengers Tower and the Fisk building. My only disappointment was that you couldn't do more with the added Marvel characters. I was under the impression that you would be able to play as Wolverine, Moon Knight, Black Cat and the rest. The fact that they just come and assist you was a bit of a disappointment. Some of the game play is repetitive as well, there are just only so many symbiotes one can destroy in a day. But overall I give Spider-Man: Web of Shadows a "B".
This gift was a hit! December 8, 2008 Hello World I bought this game for a birthday gift for a friend. He says he thinks it is the best Spidey Game out ever, so I guess he likes it! Just be careful because it is rated for "Teens". So, I'm happy if he's happy!
Game was a good purchase November 23, 2008 Lisa H (Las Vegas, NV) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game for my 3 1/2 Y/O Spiderman fanatic son. I didn't realize it was rated teen until Mary Jane said "damn" and I looked at the case. However, my son manages to learn how to do more and more with Spidey and get farther each time he is allowed to play which is one hour per day. He loves it and it is teaching him to keep trying whenever he gets frustrated while learning something new. He likes pretending to be Spidey so much that he won't give up until he succeeds in the task he's working on and I like that. I would say it is a smooth game to control so I recommend it for kids younger than teens if you can explain the situations in the game to them in an intelligent, creative way.
A giant missed opportunity November 23, 2008 J. Overson (San Diego, CA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I, like most gamers, consider spider man 2 one of the best games in the series, and one of the most fun games that existed in the xbox-ps2 generation. Since then, i've been itching for an update that gave me all that was good and more and have been let down 3 times, the most recent with web of shadows. Almost immediately, and I mean *immediately*, the game feels like it loses focus and thrusts me into a series of repetitive tasks that make me question whether or not the developers have played any games since 2001. This might be a good purchase for children and at 30 dollars or lower, but anyone else should steer far, far clear.
