The 5.1 Headphone advantage January 6, 2009 R. LHEUREUX (Tuftonboro, NH USA) These headphones are the perfect add-on for the xbox. They provide excellent sound quality (lots of bass with bass boost turned on), and excellent player microphone audio control and quality. They are the perfect solution if you are hearing complaints about the "constant war battles in the living room" from others in the house. I did not experience any noticeable hiss unless I turned the headphones well above the normal play level with no game sounds playing (manual says some plasma displays can induce hiss due to IR emissions). Directional sound works very well and provides an advantage in hearing opponents coming from behind. Quality is good and considering this is a full 5.1 digital decoder, price is reasonable. They are comfortable and I'm still on my original set of batteries in the wirelewss headset after about 15 hrs of play. Comes with an optical cable for the pass-thru audio so it's easy to switch to external sound system since the pass thru is always active as long as the unit has power on. Velour ear cups are comfortable and durable (not the cheap foam or faux leather that disintegrates). Also easily removable to wash or replace. Highly recommended for the serious gamer.
Great Crisp Sound December 28, 2008 H. ALSHUWAHA (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these headphones to play my favorite XBOX 360 games at late nights, while enjoying a high quality sound. The ear fore x4 offers a great quality sound with great bass feature. It gives good surround like performance, very close to the real thing. I love the compatibility with the XBOX 360 console. I love the ear cups design, they are firm and comfy. The only thing I did not like is the background noise, which is very difficult to suppress with IR systems. But, once the main signal is received, this noise is barely noticeable. The ear cups leather edge was slightly torn because the way the manufacturer packs the system, which provides some friction between the ear cups and the base of the transmitter. The manufacturer could avoid this small problem by providing some kind of insulation between the ear cups and the base of the transmitter. Overall, these headphones are great.

Advantage For You December 22, 2008 Jeremy St Yves 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are THE headphones to get for any Xbox 360 player who wants wireless sound. I'll start with the bad, to get it out of the way. There are 3-4 "flaws" with these headphones, which I found easy fixes for. 1. The "HISS": Aim the component at where you are sitting, reduces is it largely. Also, Plasma TVs cause a lot of extra hiss, interference. Says it right in the manual. I have LCD. Also, if you CRANK these things, you hear it when there is silence. 2. They break easily: UMMMMM... yeah, if you mistreat them. Why would you? I've had this pair for a while now, I've even accidently "stretched" them a few times. Nothing. If you are afraid, buy them from a store with a protection plan. Its worth it just for the piece of mind. 3. Batterys: They are wireless, ok so they don't recharge... but every house should get a battery recharger and 2-3 sets of wireless batterys over time. Constant batteries, and I never have to buy again. Cost me no more then $50-60 for a long long time of endless batteries for controllers, remotes, and headphones. 4. Connections: People have complained you need certain wires to connect it to your 360, but most HD TVs now-a-days have the digital output connection on the back of the TV. I'm easily hooked up for all my devices and XBox through HDMI. OK, with that out of the way. These headphones are incredible. Perfect sound, 20+ hours of life, incredible features, lightweight, comfortable. If these aren't everything you want in a pair of wireless headphones, nevermind xbox360, there is either something wrong with you, or you already have the wrong equipment.
Only one negative! December 10, 2008 Z. Winzenried (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like everyone else is saying, these headphones are amazing! My wife asked if there was anyway she could stop hearing all the shooting going on in my favorite games (Halo 3, CoD4). I said sure, but it's not gonna be cheap! She didn't care so I took the plunge on these and couldn't be happier! The feedback loop that plays your own voice back through the speakers is fantastic. Sound quality is just as spot on as my home theater system. The only negative is the line of sight issue, but if you can't see your TV you probably don't need to hear anything either! A must buy in my opinion!
