 Great to start out, but is only good for about 6 months January 1, 2009

I rated the "fun" factor as 5 stars, because I really have had some good times with this drum kit, but as most people have said, it's not very well made. As a novice/beginner, it's great, so long as you don't get too exuberant in your playing.
I have had this kit for 6 months now, gone from never having played a drum in my life, to playing all songs on Hard, some on Expert (Rock Band 1 and 2) and as of today, I am on my second drum pedal (first one broke after 3 months of use) and the Red Pad is about to snap off. I am not hard on this kit either, I would consider my level of playing to be gentle to average. So to have it break on me was kind of a shock. (there are after-market options out there to support the Red and Green pads-mostly made out of PVC pipe, but I haven't tried this yet)
NOTE: Make sure you buy the Rock Band 2 kit (which I hear is better), EA no longer supports any returns on Rock Band 1 instruments. They were good about extending the warranty when so many people had problems with the drum pedal and such, but the minute Rock Band 2 came out, that was over.
And those of you who feel like you're a bit more serious about playing, bite the bullet and get the Ion PS3 Drum Rocker Premium Set, well worth the money and the construction is SO much better. PlayStation 3 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set

I have had this drum set for several months now and have played it a ton. I have not experienced the bass pedal breaking that everyone else is always complaning about..I also usually play all songs on either hard or expert levels so I put a lot of wear on it.
Overall it is awesome, I just wish it wasn't as noisy as the sticks hitting the plastic sounds lame but I usually crank the stereo volume so loud that the music overpowers it anyway.

The Rock Band drum set is a must! It is extremely fun to play and might even teach you some rhythm in the process. I started playing the game with the guitar controller initially, but rarely use it anymore.

Lots of fun but broke after a couple of weeks. We have had to order parts for this. It is not made very well.
