The Boss October 27, 2008 LinXX MiDoups Hitman is (in my opinion) the best "real world" first person shooter to ever hit the market. Thank eidos. I love every minute of it...the planning and the statisfaction that comes with its precise execution.
Hitman Trilogy August 6, 2008 sinner619 (Hendersonville, NC) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's just my opinion but I don't care for these games at all. They go through a lot of trouble to make them realistic with actual weapons, very good graphics, and then they set it up so that the enemies can, for instance take an inhuman amount of damage. I shot one of them in the chest 5 times with a .50 cal pistol at close range and they didn't drop, there is something wrong with that. I even shot one of them in the head with a sniper rifle, blood came out the back of his head onto a wall, and then he shot me dead. The player can take similar damage. Plus by the time you've beaten the game you've either saved and loaded several dozens of times or you've gotten shot several dozens of times. Either way it's not very realistic game play at all, which is a fault of quite a lot of first person shooters in my opinion (I know I'm in the minority opinion as far as that goes). Getting shot should probably mean something though, if you like realism. I would disagree that the AI is good. The enemies reflexes are sometimes way to high and as another reviewer pointed out the enemies are often psychic. The three games get progressively worse. Silent Assassin is all around a much better game than either of the others. Blood Money is an absolute joke. It's hyped up graphics and visual flare trying to make up for shortcomings galore. Yet another problem that I have with many other recent games.
Very Good May 25, 2008 John 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did not buy the Hitman Trilogy, but I have played every single game in the series and I must say that eidosinteractive did a fantastc job with Hitman. Just recently, I decided to re-download Hitman Codename 47 and Hitman 2 Silent Assassin to add to the other two titles I have (Contracts and Bloodmoney) From the previous comments, it appears that there seems to be some sort of incompatibility issue with Vista Operatig systems. The easiest way to solve that problem is to go to the hitman2silentassassin set up icon/shortcut, right click on it, and go to properties. once in properties, click on the compatibility tab and go to "run this program in compatibilty mode for" area (select the radio button next to it) and select the operating system you want the game to be installed in. For Hitman 2, I selected Windowx XP. Once you do that, you should be all set. The game will install fine and will run with no problems. I don't know whether Contracts or Bloodmoney will run in Vista, but if they don't, just use the above method to solve the problem. I installed Codeman47 with no problems and hopefully I can run it in Vista without having to do the compatibility thing. Hope this helps...
A great game in a great series April 6, 2008 Ryan Feil (Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game continues the great tradition of the previous hitman games. It has improved graphics and allows you to benefit from a well-executed mission by being paid for the hits and being able to use that money to upgrade your weapons, customizing them to be more accurate and lethal. The game allows a wide variety of choices in how to accomplish a mission and there is no "right" way to beat a mission. The only problem that this game still suffers from is that the AI still needs improvements. Situations that you would expect the guards to get suspicious and start shooting will only get a warning, whereas a simple mistake that should only get the guards suspicious results in them pulling out their guns and blasting away at you when you just tried to open a door that didn't have any signs to Keep Out. Overall, this was a fun game.
A GREAT DEAL ON THREE GREAT GAMES! February 28, 2008 NeuroSplicer (Freeside, in geosynchronous orbit) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had hours of fun playing the HITMAN series! Ever since the first installment, Agent 47's barcoded neck had been bobbing in my screen trying to figure out the most stealthy (yet effective) way to wipe out the...Clients. A nice collection of weapons; a good mix of tactics and disguises; interesting urban settings; even more interesting ways of killing. What more can a one ask from a shooter? And, at this price for all 3 games, now THIS is a bargain! (VALVE are you taking notes?) Do not miss out!
